Bathtime Belly Laughs

WARNING, THIS VIDEO CONTAINS BABY BUTT CRACK:)
The other day Kai was taking a bath and I walked out for a second to throw away his diaper. All of the sudden I heard him cracking up with his cute belly laugh. I snuck back in and found that he had taught himself to blow bubbles...and he thought it was hilarious! Here is a little I caught on tape. He was still figuring it out so would sometimes stick he head in the water while he was still laughing and get some water...but I love that he is not scared at all...I think he is ready for some swimming lessons!

Happy Easter!

We had a very low key weekend but had a wonderful time celebrating the Resurrection of our Savior! Kai was sick most of the week but got better by Friday evening...then Tyson woke up with the same virus on Saturday. But, since Kai was better and we had been in the house most of the week (very unsual for us!) I decided to try to take him to the Easter Egg Hunt at the park in town for some fresh air. Daddy braved going out and took a few pictures for us. Kai did pretty well considering the chaos of a hunt and even got a few eggs...although he was way more interested in the flowers! It was over in about three minutes but he had a good time:) The plastic eggs he got have kept him quite entertained this weekend. We have "hid" them and he finds them and puts them in his pail and then tosses them around. On Easter we went to church and had a late lunch with our friends Ryan and Caitlin. The rest of the day we spent relaxing and hanging out as a family. Even though Tyson was sick it was nice to have two whole days together as a family. Here are a few pictures from our Easter weekend.

Will Cuddle When Sick

It has been so wonderful to have my boys back home. Unfortunately Kai woke up Tuesday morning with a stomach virus and it is still going on. I hate seeing my baby sick and not being able to do much for him. He is really not liking the Pedialyte and how do you explain to an 11 month old that he can't get dehydrated. The only nice thing is that he will cuddle. I actually rocked him to sleep yesterday for his nap and again just now before he fell asleep. I can't remember the last time I have rocked him to sleep...probably not since he was an infant. He is usually way too interested in what is going on and I am probably to antsy to sit and try to make him rock to sleep when I know he just needs to get his wiggles out in his bed in his own time. It has been nice to have him sit in my lap all morning and cuddle...it makes up for all the throw up and disgusting diapers:) As much as I enjoy the cuddling I know that he is not himself and that he really must not be feeling well if he can sit that long and that is hard to see! Lord, please heal my baby!

My Boys Are Out of Town

This weekend Tyson went home to Ellensburg with the other guys in the band to do some recording. He took Kai with him and Kai gets to hang out with Gramma & Pa and Auntie Taryn while Daddy and the guys record. It was a treat for Gramma & Pa to be with Kai and a big treat for me to have a FREE weekend! I thought it would be full of relaxation, and plenty of time to clean the house, stock the cupboards and a few naps of course! It is now Sunday and I have not done much relaxation but it has been a great weekend. I have kept busy and gotten lots of things done that are so much easier to do without someone to care for. It was so freeing to go around in Portland yesterday...the mall, Costco, Target, Babies R Us, Target again...and no getting a baby in and out of a car (it's amazing the time you save)! I have also had a chance to hang out with girlfriends which has been so wonderful. So, today I planned to cram in some cleaning and relaxation (how do you "cram" in relaxation...sad that was really my thought), but I am feeling like I am getting sick so maybe the cleaning will have to wait...relaxation here I come! I am so thankful for a wonderful husband who was willing to brave a 5 1/2 hour car ride (each way) with a busy baby (and the two guys who were braving it too), I am so thankful for wonderful mom and dad who would love nothing more than to care for their grandson all weekend...and I am thankful for good friends to encourage me and fill me up with some girl time!

Car Seats...I Need Your Help!

So, we need to get Kai a new carseat. He is currently still in his infant seat and I think it is time to get him a big boy seat. I don't think he has totally out grown it yet but he soon will and I figure he since he is almost 1 it is time! I am hoping to buy it this weekend but thought I would see if I could get some feed back from other moms on seats you got and if you did or did not like them. I would love to get one that will go all the way into a booster seat but that is not totally necessary. I would also ideally like to purchase it from Target because I have saved a gift card since his baby shower and have $100 to go towards it. So, if you can take a second and give me some feedback I would absolutely appreciate it. Also, if you have any good websites that I should go to for reviews let me know! Thanks for your help friends!

Escape Artist?

Today I was at the church for a MOPS (Mother of Pre-Schoolers) event. Kai was in the nursery and I let them know that he would need a nap. When I came to pick him up the girl was holding him and said "Your son.." with a look that made me think he had been naughty. She informed me that he had not been naughty but had scared her. She went on to tell me that she had put him down for a nap in the crib room. A while later she heard a noise and opened the door...he was out of the crib and at the door. WHAT??? How does that happen? She double checked the crib and the side was up. I so badly wish I could have seen what happened...did he climb, fall or slip through the cracks? If only there was a video camera...I would have loved to have watch it (or maybe not...I probably would have freaked out)! He seemed totally fine and I did not see any marks on him. I felt so bad for the girl who was watching him too...poor thing. Anyway, this was one crazy story I had to write down! Yikes...is this going to happen at home? Oh, Lord, please keep him in his crib!

PartyLite

So, I have decided to try to make a little extra money by being a PartyLite consultant...that's right, I am a candle lady:) I just had my starter party last week and am now booking shows. Please keep me in your prayers as I take this on...that I do not try to do too much...and that I can actually do this:) Other than making extra money I really wanted to do something outside of my home and church so that I can meet new women and form relationships...please pray that this will be an opportunity for me to be a light for Him! Thanks for your prayers and if you want to buy candles or host a candle party talk to me:)

Kai is Eleven Months Old!

Our sweet baby is no longer a baby...he is turning into a little boy before our eyes! He is quite good on his feet now...walking everywhere and he has learned to stand up on his own with out crawling to a wall or piece of furniture. He loves carrying things around...anything he can find: shoes, bibles, pots, bowls...and he sometimes actually plays with his toys! He is quite the little chatter bug although we don't know what he is saying...he seems to think it is important though! He does say da da a lot now and knows he what he is saying...it is super cute but I do hope I hear a ma ma soon:) He is testing us quite a bit lately (especially today). He LOVES buttons...and finds them everywhere...especially ones that are lit up or that will light up when he pushes them...the TV, the heater...the other day at the office he was playing under my desk and all the sudden my computer went blank...he had seen the little light on the power strip and couldn't resist. He does well for an eleven month old who has to spend two days a week in a cubicle. I sort of block off the openings and he plays in there...I'll have to take some pictures and share some more stories of our time in the office:) Well, needless to say it is hard to believe the next time I write one of these monthly updates Kai will be ONE YEAR OLD! Here are some pictures I tried to take of him today...my camera is just not fast enough to capture this kiddo!

Kai loves playing with this old key...doesn't he look like a mini coach?

Beach Trip

We took a trip to the beach with our good friends Ryan and Caitlin this Sunday. It was a little more chilly than we hoped but we still had a great time. We went to Pacific City where there is a huge sand dune we love to climb and cliffs and just a beautiful view! This is actually the site of one of Tyson and my first dates...the one after the Olympia Picketing Video Date (long story if you don't know...I will write about it sometime). Anyway, we had a great afternoon hiking around, flying the kite and eating a yummy dinner. One the way home we had a little car trouble (not ours) in the middle of nowhere with no cell phone service...but the Lord protected us and we made it home safe. Thanks Ryan and Caitlin for the fun day!
